And yet another satisfied customer for Jamorama Guitar

| Hi All... |
| It's amazing when I consider that less than two months ago I had not heard of Jamorama, and at this stage had learned only the major chords; and could not find any of them without studying where I was fretting each finger, one at a time. And as for changing between them, well, there'd be time to make a cuppa before I got there! After daily lessons since then from your brilliant course, I have progressed rapidly to playing chord sequences using majors, minors and dominant sevenths, in both 4/4 and 3/4 time, and usually without having to look at what I am doing. This is astonishing considering that when I first tried to play guitar over a decade ago, after more than a year of lessons with an instructor, I still couldn't string two notes together without making a mistake. In any type of self-education course, there is always the massive temptation to "skip ahead" when you reach a part that looks a bit difficult , or doesn't cover exactly what you're hoping to do in the longer term. But Jamorama is structured so cleverly that this temptation simply isn't there - every section follows the last one perfectly, so you're never thrown into a challenge that is too much for the stage you're at, or seems dull against what you've already done. The video lessons are a fantastic idea, and being able to replay them as often as you like is great, so you can simply keep going until you're up to speed and have the rhythm right, without feeling embarrassed if it takes a while to get there. But even they have to play second fiddle to the jam tracks - having a band at your disposal to play along with is an awesome feeling when you've never done that before, and the satisfaction of getting the timing right throughout a track for the first time is immense. At one point in the course, we're asked "how are you enjoying the jam tracks?" That's an easy one - they are so much fun that I have found myself involuntarily laughing from the sheer pleasure involved. Learning isn't supposed to be this much fun! As if the course itself wasn't more than enough to keep you happy, the free extras are great too. Jayde Musica Pro is a fun way to learn to read music, or if, like myself, you've already got the basics nailed here, it's a great tool to use to improve your recognition speeds - no more of this slowly transcribing notes at the rate of two or three a minute! But my favourite of the extras has to be the metronome. For anyone who is thinking of buying a guitar, a metronome is a must, and a decent one will cost you at least £40. Hello? That's the price of the course covered then! YOU CAN'T GO WRONG! I have been fortunate enough to get an early look at the new BETA version of Jamorama, and there is SO much more, it really hasn't hit me yet. It's like, WOW! And all this extra has come FREE as I'm already a member. It defies belief. I think that if this was anything else, the knowledge that there was so much more still to come would be intimidating, but here, it's more like all my birthdays coming at once - all those extra jam tracks to look forward to, oh, wow, I could jabber excitedly about this all day. If you're new to Jamorama at the BETA stage, it's now so easy to get started. The intro / download screens have been upgraded and include detailed, step-by-step instructions to getting started, so even if you're a complete PC novice, it's still really straightforward. If you're reading this and still aren't convinced, then you can't be interested in learning to play guitar. I cannot recommend this course highly enough, I haven't been so excited by anything since I was a little boy, and that was many years ago! I do, however, have just one note of caution. Jamorama should be packaged with an "addiction warning". My wife thinks I'm not interested anymore because I now spend so much time locked away with my guitar and PC! Guys, brilliant job, keep it up! |
